I tried to answer three main questions in the Cardiology exam:

  1. Differentials and identification of the murmur/lesion

  2. Severity of the above

  3. If identified the murmur, then the aetiology of this (for example if you know it is AS, comment on the severity and the underlying cause - calcification, bicuspid etc.)

Below are scripts for each of the common cases.

  1. General script

  2. Mitral stenosis

  3. Mitral regurgitation

  4. Mitral valve prolapse

  5. Aortic regurgitation

  6. Aortic stenosis

  7. Mixed aortic valve disease

  8. HOCM

  9. Pulmonary hypertension + tricuspid regurgitation

  10. Tricuspid regurgitation with/without pulmonary hypertension

  11. Non-cyanotic congenital heart disease - Atrial Septal Defect, VSD

  12. Cyanotic congenital heart disease - Eisenmenger's

  13. Marfan Syndrome

  14. Mechanisms behind maneuvers
